In Germany, Only Google Attracts More Visitors Than Facebook
In June 2011, Facebook became the second most popular site, behind only Google, with over 37 million unique visitors in Germany. Google Sites ranked first with 51.7 million unique visitors during the month and Microsoft came in third with 34.3 million.
Facebook has had the strongest growth over the past 6 months out of the top 5, with an 18 percent increase in unique visitors and reached 67 percent of the total German internet audience. Since January 2011, Google Sites audience rose by 4 percent and the company reached 93.4 percent of the online audience in June 2011.
In Germany, Facebook ranked first for engagement with a total of 10.6 billion minutes spent on the site compared to 9.7 billion minutes spent on Google Sites, which ranked second.
