In August 2011, 6.8% of digital traffic in the U.S. came from non-computer devices. Out of this 6.8%, mobile accounted for the largest share of non-computer traffic at 64.4%. Tablets accounted for 28.1% of non-computer traffic, while other devices (which includes iPods, e-readers, gaming consoles, etc.) accounted for 7.5% of traffic.A closer look at digital consumption on tablets revealed that traffic originating from tablet devices has increased 5.4 percentage points to 28.1% share of non-computer traffic over the past three months. The Apple iPad/iPad2 accounted for 97% of all tablet traffic in August, dominating the tablet market.
