According to data from Comscore Ad Metrix, Social Media category accounted for 29% of all display advertising impressions in the UK during September 2011. In the same period, the UK internet user was exposed to a social display ad on average 523 times a month.
With such compelling data, it is clear that brands are investing heavily in social media to get interactive with their audiences. The industry is experiencing larger budgets in display adverting, engaging creatives and more data-driven marketing strategies.
