Joint Initiative Will Enable Publishers in India to Verify Traffic Viewed on the Dailyhunt App and Count Toward Their Overall Site Traffic
Bangalore, India, 28 September 2016 – Dailyhunt, a leading Indian language digital content app, today announced that it has leveraged Comscore Mobile Metrix® to build a framework for publisher traffic credit attribution. This represents a turning point in mobile traffic credit attribution, with visitation to web pages and viewership of content on the Dailyhunt aggregator platform being reported and attributed to publishers. With this development, reach and engagement credit attribution for the consumption of publisher content will be done at a granular level, irrespective on which mobile platform or device the consumer is consuming the content in. Dailyhunt will hence be able to provide content publishers with access to information and insights on their content consumption on the Dailyhunt platform. “Working with Comscore marks a fundamental watershed moment in our journey as an Indian language digital content platform,” said Virendra Gupta, CEO & Founder, Dailyhunt. “This revolution in measurement and attribution will enable our more than 500 publishers to gain significant insights into the users and the traffic from a trusted source. This also engineers a break in the traditional methodology that traffic for a publisher’s content is only measured on its platform. With this engagement, we will be enabling an environment where the publishers are not just receiving valuable insights on the usage of their content on our platform, but also receiving attribution for the consumption of their content.”
“We are excited to work with Dailyhunt to build a framework for publishers to receive credit for their total mobile consumption with Comscore Mobile Metrix,” said Kedar Gavane, Vice President, India, Comscore. “Particularly in today’s fragmented mobile media environment, we continue to be committed to delivering accurate, independent and holistic measurement as well as actionable insights on consumer behaviour across content touch points and devices for a unified view.”
Note to Publishers: Tag to Ensure Inclusion in Comscore Mobile MetrixMobile Metrix in India uses Comscore’s census-based methodology that reports on only tagged entities. Publishers looking to understand and monetise their mobile audiences can improve their measurement by ensuring complete implementation of tagging for all pages and apps. Properties that only tag some of their assets (e.g. website but not app) or partially tag (e.g. homepage only) will only be measured on those tagged assets, which will have an impact on the total reported metrics of their entity.
