PARIS, France, October 2, 2008 –Comscore, Inc. (NASDAQ: SCOR), a leader in measuring the digital world, today released its August rankings of the largest and fastest-growing Internet properties and site categories in France based on data from the Comscore World Metrix audience measurement service.
The month saw an 18-percent increase in visitation to the sports category, as France focused its attention on the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China. Other site categories achieving gains included religion, lotto/sweepstakes, photos and consumer goods. Facebook.com broke into the top 25 properties for the first time in August, growing 12 percent over July to 6.3 million visitors.
